


No model manufacturer has ever released this Lotus 102 before, so I feel this is one unique project. I decided to just do a curbside conversion from Tamiya 102B Lotus kit and forgot about engine details. With all this, it makes this project possible. Steffen has cast a new pointed nose cone and made a home-made Alps-print decal. This project is inspired by Steffen's Lotus project. After that Camel went to sponsor Benetton and Williams.

Lotus also lost his title sponsor Camel after that year and it represented last year of seeing a full Camel yellow sponsored car. It was piloted by Warwick, McDonnely and Herbert in 1990 season. But Trumpeter made my wishes came true to perfection…In 1938 Henschet started to manufacture a VK30.01(H) prototype. This kit is one of those that you think you’ll never wish to build until some manufacturer introduce one injected in plastic, with good quality details and comparatively inexpensive…something nearly impossible. I like to thank my friend Todd for providing me the AMC M193 instruction sheet, so that I have better idea where to place the decal logo, and Johnson Tang for providing me tips of using Gunze lacquer clear coat. The result is not perfect, but I am still satisfied with the result. After more than 15 months of on and off building, the car is finally completed.

So I bought an AMC M193 decal and tried out the conversion. The History Today archive contains everything weve published since the magazine was founded in 1951, along with articles published in our student title History Review. I found that M193 shape is pretty close to Lotus 107B and McLaren MP4/8. So far I only see Modelers' M198, Club M's M197, Wolf's PS-01 and AMC M193. None of the major model manufacturers makes Minardi F1. Although the team often run with limited budget, Minardi team's strong determination made them on the F1 grid for almost 15 years. Minardi was one of the F1 privateer teams that had never won any grand prix and they were often missed because most of the attention are put on big name teams.
